Love for Work XP

Work XP has been a fantastic addition to our careers programme. By using local role models from a range of different industries, it has helped to instil a 'realistic and achievable' outcome for young women. 

It has also allowed students to develop their own knowledge of careers, that they may not have even been interested. 

Work XP has helped to bridge the gap between education and the working world, as it allows the students to further their knowledge, of the world of 'work' without leaving the classroom.

Our year 8 form tutors have been using it so far and the feedback has been really positive. The pupils in particular like how relatable the videos are. Thanks again for this opportunity for us to trial it.

A highlight for me was watching a recorded interview between Kirsty and a Cardiologist. As someone who hopes to pursue a career in cardiology, I found her advice particularly inspiring and her message encouraged me to remain confident in my ambitions and continue working towards my goals.

The videos with the people talking about their careers have been well received by the pupils, they especially liked the paramedic one where he made reference to finding school difficult because of dyslexia, so needing to find a different route.

The videos are a good length and hold the student's attention and they liked the people in the jobs were relatable.

Work XP is fantastic for staff and students. The resources are excellent, easy to find and easy to use. Students loved the videos and enjoyed answering the questions on the worksheet. 

This helped greatly with staff workload. The lessons really resonated with the students as it was local females who they could directly relate to. Students have been asking for more and longer sessions.
